I became involved in Ahotokurom on a holiday in 1996. I had been asked to take some photos and interview the elders so I could report back to Christ the King Sixth Form College what difference their Community Centre had made. I fell in love with the people and ended up helping them complete an application to the UK National Lottery Charities Board for a grant to redevelop the whole village of ‘Camp’. We formed Friends of Ahotokurom, we got the funds and the rest is history! I ended up living and working with the people to complete the project from 1999 – 2000. I have been hooked ever since!
